TGCOM24 It’s a NEWS channel which has undergone a particular path. It started out as an news website, with its counterpart as short format pill on air on Mediaset bouquet channels (for which indeed in past years we had already taken care of the brand).
Later on, Mediaset networks decided to launch, departing from this experience, a real news channel. The channel went on-air on November 28th 2011.
TGCOM24 is a multimedia system and multi-platform that provides 24\7 news broadcasted on television, web, tablet and smartphone.
It employs more than 100 journalists and it provides news, updates, press releases, surveys and information spaces. We consider it a great opportunity and experience to have worked in such important project,
which required an intensive use of resources and all our management skills.
The challange
This time it was about being able to gather a huge amount of resources, in order to launch a massive NEWS channel, with tight deadlines and with a full aim to achieve an impeccable and functional design.
We wanted to give to the channel a unique voice among italian scenario, and differentiate the various themed magazines in the best possible way.
The solution
We built a city made of information, which creates and winds in the universe of international NEWS. We used sequences without cuts so to convey the idea of continuity and reliability to the brand. We have developed a grid system, relying on a deep analysis of competitors and creating clear and sharp animations, that is engaged to be watched 24 hours a day but also it provides full functionality to stream continuously data converging from all editorials platforms.
The result
A success at national level: the launch was, a historical day for Mediaset in Italy (even the President Napolitano held in his hands an ipad showing the TGCOM24 app that day). TGCOM24 is now a reality that is perfectly inserted in the italian NEWS proposal, an authoritative and followed proposal.
Mediaset has certainly done an outstanding job. But what if the credit was also a bit of the visual identity that the channel has?
